Ingredients
- 500g macaroni
- 350g mixed cheese leftovers, thinly sliced or grated
- 50g butter
- 50g plain flour
- 650ml milk
- 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 1 clove of garlic crushed
- 2 tbsp of olive oil
- Freshly ground black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat the grill.
- Bring large pan of water to boil and cook the macaroni according to pack instructions.
- Drain and set aside.
- In a large saucepan, melt the butter, add the flour and cook for 1 minute.
- Slowly pour in the milk and stir constantly to avoid lumps.
- Once you have a smooth sauce, add the mustard, pepper, crushed garlic, and 3/4 of the cheese.
- Stir in the macaroni and mix all together.
- Tip into an ovenproof dish and scatter the remaining cheese over the mixture.
- Drizzle the oil on top, and pop under the grill for 5/10 minutes until golden brown.
Notes
- Serve with a green salad
